Topic of presentation: Visualization BIG DATA (Workshop)

In these days we very often find ourselves in position, where we are facing with large amount of data and we need to analyze it. A lot of people think it is hard to visualize that data, but we will show it, that this is not always true. Using ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) some good environment can be built which serves as good base for additional analysis. ELK stack is a modern solution that can handle large amount of data and make it search and visualize in an easy way.

Goal of this workshop is to show how we can fast build environment to fit our needs and to import different types of logs into this environment. We will build our environment based on ELK stack, import some logs into it and quickly build some really good visualizations and look for some interesting data and patterns in this data.

Requirements for the workshop:
  • A laptop with least 4 GB of RAM and 40 GB disk
  • Hypervisor such as VMware Workstation or VirtualBox

Milan Gabor is a Founder and CEO of Viris, Slovenian company specialized in information security. He is security professional, pentester and researcher. Milan is a distinguished and popular speaker on information security. He has previously been invited to speak at various events at different IT conferences in Slovenia and the rest of the World. He also does ethical hacking trainings. He is always on a hunt for new and uncovered things and he really loves and enjoys his job and dreams about parachute jumping.
